Hope everybody is enjoying today because I am... and if I can do it, you could do it! Anywho, yesterday I did a laptop motherboard replacement on a hp nw8240 notebook and was one of the hardest to find motherboard and most expensive part I've dealt with for awhile. Regardless, I did end up finally tracking down the correct part # over the phone with hp and that was 416901-001.

When you break all the information down it specifies to a "PC Board : System board (motherboard) - Featuring the ATI Mobility FireGL V5000 (M26P) x16 PCI Express graphics controller with 128MB discrete DDR video memory and ADI 1981B AC'97 audio codec controller with integrated digital equalizer - For nw8240".

The reference spares p/n for 416901-001 is also compatible with HP Compaq nc8230 nw8240 and nx8220 series computers.
