hey i bought this laptop from ebay and its a hp dv2000, well before i bought it the guy said everything was fine execpt for the cd drive, it would work sometimes only. when he said he replaced it the laptop wouldnt turn on anymore. now i still bought thinking i can fix a simple problem like that u know thinking it was a simple problem. now when i received it, the laptop turns on but no video at all, all the lights and fan but the hardrive indicator doesnt flash, now ive been hearing about the issue with the video card, do u think that could be it or something else, and if i replace the motherboard what can i do to prevent it from happening again. and does it have to be the exact same motherboard or can i replace it with a newer version thank you.

Hello,
Your website is very helpful regarding motherboards. I have a v3000 that is experiencing the same problems as others, I have the motherboard out, but the number on mine is a little different than the one referenced in your article about them. It is a 48.4f701.031 the one mentioned in your article ends in 051. Can I use that board or are they different? And will it solve the problem or will it happen again?

So there is no way to fit this motherboard into the AMD version of the V3000 DF notebook? What other parts are different between the AMD version and the Intel version for the v3000 model? I am willing to open up a few holes or minor alterations. I am afraid the Nvidia IGP issue will resurface even with a new replacement AMD motherboard.

Buy the board which your laptop uses now and match up part numbers exactly. Full featured usually means it has extras like hdmi port or something unique but they are not interchangeable.

Hi, can you explain exactly what is a de-featured motherboard versus a "regular" full featured motherboard. I would like to replace the one in my own dv2000 but what will not work without the "features" on the original board. My board is 440777-001 and the one I am looking at is 440778-001.
Thanks
