442875-001 Compaq Presario F500, F700 Series and HP G6000 Series Full-Featured with Webcam Option Laptop Motherboard
Just finished a motherboard replacement on a customers Compaq Presario F700 Laptop. It took a little work to find the correct part but that series uses HP Part Number 442875-001 which is - "PC Board : System board (motherboard) - With webcam option - For full-featured model".
The same part #: 442875-001 will also work with most Compaq Presario F500 Series Notebook PC (AMD ONLY) Series, Compaq Presario F700 Series and the HP G6000 Notebook Series.

HP Compaq F500 F700 V6000 442875-001 AMD Motherboard Price: $129.00 on eBay® |

It took me forever to find the motherboard I needed until coming here. After seeing pictures and reading the information, I knew this was the one I needed. Found someone on the internet who was selling that exact part number and now I am happy. THANK YOU!!!
your welcome. glad I was able help.
Where to find this part for $115.00?
I would first search eBay.com as I find you could just about buy any part number motherboard you need and pricing is always good. If you don’t find what you like on eBay then I would do a Google Product/Shopping Search because I know a lot of people who are selling this board.
Any more F700 MB on hand?
Yes, did you look here? http://www.laptopmotherboard.org/motherboards/442875-001-compaq-f500-f700-hp-g6000-ff-laptop-motherboard/
You can find that motherboard here and it’s now only $110 442875-001
I have had two of these motherboard 442875-001 go bad after one year. Started with wffi problem then no interment to no power. Is there nay other motherboard that will work in the f500 chassis?
There you can find some information about the problem you have and how to resolve it. It is a a nvidia chip problem. That who is close to the processor. But with a “home-system” you can solve it.
It has been a general problem, and HP has gave an extra year warranty to those who had the problem within the fors year.
ALl the best.
Is it possible to update the F700 that comes with the GeForce Go 6100 to a later F700 with a better graphics card? I am really attached to my F700 (don’t ask why). I’ve upgraded the CPU to dual core 2.0, the ram to 4GB, and the HDD to 7200 RPM. Also, is there a battery for it that will last longer than the stock option?
only the same part number that is on your current motherboard
Just put this into my F500 and booted like a charm. Good information.
awesome! glad everything went smooth.
I have a compaq that has motherboard issues. Can you help please? I see you solved yours.
I can help you - what is the problem your having?
My nephews Compaq F500 just pulled all these tricks. First the wifi went. Flashed the bios per HP support. No joy. They are no longer doing the extended warranty repairs, that ended in Nov of 2009. Then the thing crapped out completely. No POST. Does anyone know the actual cause?
I am going to hook him up with a new motherboard, but thought I would try and fix the old one after it is out. Also, once the new MB is in, is the internal wifi card still good or did it actually die earlier on?
Thanks for your help.
The internal wifi should be fine as this is a seperate module, the issue is with the motherboard. To be honest I don’t personally think it is worth paying out for a replacement part. I have gone through 3 F500 mobo’s in past 3 years! I certainly would not buy a used 442875-001 as it might be advistised as ‘tried and tested’ but it will just do the same thing soon enough! Sorry for the negative! It’s a shame that there is not another presario mobo that fits!
Dan: I have seen a few folks offering a repair service on the nvidia chipset on these motherboards. That would infer that the cause is video related. Any opinions on that aspect of things? Do you know anyone who went that route and how it went?
HP offered to fix my nephews laptop for $339. How nice of them…
My neighbor has a F730US that uses this mobo. Similar symptoms, first the wireless went out, now the Power Indicator comes on for a second or two, and nothing. No POST, no BIOS error code beeps, nothing. Has anyone tried pulling the video chip to see if the symptoms change?
The local HP place (her friends) quoted $350. Some friends.
Found this, nothing to loose by trying. I’ll post the results.
