My daughter has a HP Pavilion dv6000us laptop and the best buy I brought it to here said it was the motherboard. I didn't get it done because they wanted too much money and said it would take up to 3 week's and my daughter need's it in time for school.

They kept trying to sell us a new computer which is why I don't trust the repair crew and after researching I see that they were selling me a part for 6x the price than on ebay which I found from your site. Any guides or help you can tell me about this or how to go about getting and installing one?

My neighbor has a F730US that uses this mobo. Similar symptoms, first the wireless went out, now the Power Indicator comes on for a second or two, and nothing. No POST, no BIOS error code beeps, nothing. Has anyone tried pulling the video chip to see if the symptoms change?
The local HP place (her friends) quoted $350. Some friends.

Dan: I have seen a few folks offering a repair service on the nvidia chipset on these motherboards. That would infer that the cause is video related. Any opinions on that aspect of things? Do you know anyone who went that route and how it went?
HP offered to fix my nephews laptop for $339. How nice of them...
