482867-001 HP Pavilion dv5 dv5-1000 dv5-1100 Intel FF+ Motherboard

It's easy to fall in love with the hp dv5 pavilion laptop computer series but so easy to fall out of love with it when a motherboard problem occurs. The 482867-001 is the is the most common dv5 notebook board that I seem to come across so I feel like.

HP will only tell you that the 482867-001 is "System board (motherboard) - Contains the nVIDIA chipset, full-featured+, and DDR2 800MHz memory supported". Laptop motherboards are so specific to it's part number, that even 1 no. off and the hp motherboard might fit... but will not work.

I have the dv5 systemboard in my hand so here's just some random tech spec's you may find useful. First thing is YES this is the full-featured+ ( FF+ ) with nVIDIA 7990-U2 video graphics onboard. From a quick look, I see 1x SATA hard drive connection, a built in card reader with one expansion slot is present along with a 1394 firewire and 2 USB ports.

HP and Compaq use 482867-001 now for it's spares part on HP Pavilion dv5, dv5-1000 and dv5-1100 entertainment notebooks. To double check just turn over your machine to see the bottom and look for the model number which is on the bottom of every laptop.

You should be looking for a HP Compaq number similar to the follow format: FE849UAR, FE849UA, FE851UAR, FE851UA, FE853UAR, FE853UA, FE860UAR, FE860UA, FE864UAR, FE864UA, FQ372PA, FR724PA, FR725PA, FR764PA, FR765PA, KG306AV, KQ571AV, KQ574AV are the most common logic boards while FY975PA, FY976PA, FL772AAR, FL772AV, FS021UAR, FS021UA, FS036UAR, FS036UA, FS038UAR, FS038UA, FW984AS, FZ712PA are compatible but you won't find too many containing that part for some odd reason. *REMEMBER THIS PART NUMBER ONLY WILL WORK WITH INTEL CORE 2 DUO PROCESSORS.

  1. Thank you so much for making my daughters laptop only $100 to fix instead of having to spend $600 on a new computer for college. The internet should have more people like you.

  2. this is what hp also was telling me i needed. i told them i’d get back to them because it was $395 for the motherboard without counting in shipping and paying someone here to install it. i can get the motherboard from here and pay someone local for half the price hp wanted just for the motherboard. thanks for saving me money!

  3. I found your blog on google.

  4. saved me a bunch of time, thank youss

  5. Any tips on replacing it? I have my replacment but it seems like theres 125 screws to get this thing out.
