Hi, I have a tx2 model # tx2-1275dx. I was told by a repair man that I need a new nvidia card driver. When I turn on my laptop, it gives me a black screen. I’m not truely convinced that it’s the nvidia. Wouldn’t it be easier and cheaper to just replace the whole motherboard? Any help is needed. I paid $1000.00 for the darn thing a year and a half ago. I can’t afford to go out and buy another laptop.

hp has detailed instructions with illustrations in pdf format on their site for this computer motherboard. I found the info for my tx2000 series as an example.

can I use tx2 MB on a tX1000 …

…..(tx2 MB’s seem to be good, whereas tx1000 MB, even a new replacement, has heat/GPU/wifi problems- don’t want to throw good money after bad by buying another tx1000 MB and have the problem come back again)

So there is no difference between a laptop and this tablet, in regards to dismantling?

I will take a look and try to help but off hand I don’t have anything like that on me. I’ll do some research and let you know if I find anything that may help you. If you never took apart a laptop I don’t advise trying to change the motherboard yourself IMO.

I have to replace a motherboard on a tx2-1025 and I’ve never dismantled a tablet before. I couldn’t imagine much difference from a notebook but cautious nonetheless. I was wondering if you knew where I could find some sort of schematic or pdf on the venture.
